Sam Tabar is special counsel with a focus on complex commercial transactions, litigation, including business and contract disputes. He advises clients on reducing litigation risk in their transactions, and represent clients as general counsel in their corporate dealings including regulatory matters.
Before focusing on corporate matters with the firm, Mr. Tabar was a lawyer for both Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom as well as Schulte Roth & Zabel. He represented clients in disputes relating to the Enron collapse as well as helped extensively on business matters for investment fund clients.
Mr. Tabar was also Head of Capital Strategy for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. During this time, he helped consult with hundreds of investment fund clients on their fund formation as well as growth strategy.
Mr Tabar was also a Managing Director for Sparx Asset Management, an investment management company with over $12 billion in assets under management. During this time he helped with fund formation, regulatory issues, compliance, as well as business growth strategy.
Mr. Tabar graduated from Oxford University and Columbia Law School. He speaks French fluently and is a member of the New York State Bar.
