In the real world, litigation is often difficult, disruptive and expensive for both individuals and businesses. While many litigators, including Ms. Rodriguez, love the work they do in and out of the court room, it’s just not that much fun for their clients. Ms. Rodriguez runs her practice with this in mind. She approaches each matter with the confident and calm aggression that leads to success at trial. While always ready to fight to the end, Ms. Rodriguez puts her clients first, constantly looking for ways to a resolution that is best for them and that does not require protracted litigation, even if that sometimes means that she passes on a good fight.
Ms. Rodriguez represents individuals and small businesses in all manner of employment litigation, business and commercial litigation, civil rights violations and state and federal criminal defense matters. Ms. Rodriguez also advises small businesses on all aspects of legal matters from contract to employee issues. She practices in both state and federal district courts, as well as various administrative tribunals.
Before focusing on private litigation practice, Ms. Rodriguez was a prosecutor with the New York County District Attorney’s Office, where she investigated and prosecuted a variety of street crimes, violent felony offenses, domestic violence and white collar crime. Once Ms. Rodriguez left public service to join the private sector, she focused on litigation with a private firm where she defended a variety of general liability claims, represented contractors in complex construction cases and represented various companies, both small and large, in premises liability and employment claims. Ms. Rodriguez has successfully handled every aspect of litigation for her clients over the years, including all phases of discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, trial, mediations, settlement negotiations and appeals.
After practicing successfully, first as a prosecutor and then a civil litigator in private practice, in February 2007, Ms. Rodriguez started her own successful litigation law firm in New York City, http://crodriguezlaw.com/. In June 2011, Ms. Rodriguez expanded her practice and joined with two partners to form Ahmad Naqvi Rodriguez LLP. In May 2014, Ms. Rodriguez split from that partnership to expand her practice again and she is now also Counsel to Balestriere Fariello. A native New Yorker and life-long upper west-sider, Ms. Rodriguez is a graduate of the Brearley School, Columbia College and Fordham Law School.
Ms. Rodriguez always fights to win. Some of Ms. Rodriguez’s more recent notable litigation successes include obtaining the only not guilty verdict for her client in a large scale gang conspiracy criminal prosecution in New York County and achieving dismissal of a petition against her client brought pursuant to the Civil Aspects of The Hague Convention on International Child Abduction in federal district court, as well as numerous victories defending and prosecuting dispositive motions in state and federal district courts.
